UK Petrol Car Ban 2030

by Riccardo Pelliteri 1 minute read

UK Prime Minister has said that new cars and vans powered exclusively by petrol and diesel will be banned in the UK from 2030. However, some hybrids would still be allowed.

The government plans £1.3 billion investment in electric vehicle (EV) charging points. Such investment is part of a wider 10-point plan, which the PM calls a “green industrial revolution”. The plan aims to tackle climate change and create jobs. For the whole 10-point plan the UK government allocated £4 billion.

Mr. Sharma, the president of the COP26, said that such investment would also support the creation of 250,000 jobs throughout the UK. The British Government is hoping to create jobs especially “where we want to see levelling up”.

Massive investments in grants will help customers to buy EVs, pushing the transition from internal combustion engines to electric.
